What do Laos, Kuwait, Jordan, Nepal and Bosnia have in common?

They are all considered more peaceful than the US, according to the “Global Peace Index” published by Visions of Humanity.

images-1And what is this Peace Index?  According to their website:

The Institute for Economics and Peace, in conjunction with the Economist Intelligence Unit and with the guidance of an international team of academics and peace experts, has compiled the Global Peace Index (GPI).

Also, Israel is 4th from the bottom, outranking such garden spots as Somalia, Afghanistan and Iraq.  However, it is ‘less peaceful’ than such rocks of stability as Pakistan, Georgia, Lebanon and Sudan.
